Online registration for 2022 is now open, for new player registrations or for existing members to re-register for the 2022 season.
Welcome to season 2022. Hope this finds you keen for more Masters hockey this year – a year in which we’re hoping for a fully turf competition for the O40 Division 1 & O50 Division 1 on Saturdays, with start times between 12:00pm and 6:00pm, depending on the clubs’ nominations.
As in past years, Men’s Masters training is scheduled for 6:30 – 7:30pm, Thursday nights at Morris Buzzacott Reserve, on the grass area south of the turf, followed by a chance to socialise thereafter. For those who are keen to train on turf, there would be opportunity to do so on Monday nights (potentially from 4 April) alongside the Masters Women (6:00pm – 7:00pm) and the Senior Lower Grade Men (7:00pm – 8:00pm). For 2022, training will kick off on Thursday, 10 March. Please bring two shirts (one white, one coloured) for participation in practice games (the main training activity most nights).
We also plan to run pre-season scratch matches tentatively starting at 1:30pm – 4:30pm on Saturday, 12 March, at Fremantle Cockburn Hockey Club. Please keep an eye out for more details (via the MCHC website, email or Facebook). Please make the effort to come down for a run, one way or another, prior to the start of the season, which will be 2 April, for Masters Weekend and 6 April, for Masters Midweek.
Finally – and most importantly – REGISTRATION, which is now open through the club web site. It’s critical that you register ASAP to play this year, so we can assemble competitive teams for all the grades we’re planning to nominate to play as below:
|O40 MW||O50 Div 1||O60 Div 1|
|O40 Div 1||O50 Div 3||O60 Div 2|
|O40 Div 2||O65|
|O40 Div 3|
Nothing more for now – we hope to see you all at the club as the new season rolls around. In the meantime, please keep an eye out for further Masters updates, through email, the MCHC website, Facebook or the Hockey WA Masters website.
